In conjunction with the Israel Directors Union (the "IDU"), Kaplan Fox sponsored a cybersecurity and data privacy conference for Israeli companies, law firms, VC funds and insurance companies doing business in the United States.  Topics included data privacy best practices, importance of state laws, corporate governance, data breach response preparation, the importance of cyber insurance, and cultural attitudes.  More than 125 people attended.

Kaplan Fox partner Joel Strauss moderated the event.  Professor Michael Birnhack of Tel Aviv University Law School delivered the keynote address, comparing and contrasting Israeli law, EU law, and US law governing cybersecurity and data privacy.  A panel discussion followed, and included Kaplan Fox partner David Straite; Israeli cybersecurity attorney Naomi Assia; Merav Vardy (In-House Counsel at HERE), and Shmuel Ben-Tovim,  current International Chair of the IDU.

The Jerusalem Post covered the event, and their report "US, Israeli Experts Warn of Danger to Data Privacy in the Digital Age" can be found HERE.
